Antialiasing in Raycasting Digital Terrain Models

چکیده
We may use ray-casting methods to render terrain from digital terrain models. In this paper we enhance a terrain renderer in several ways, including application of antialiasing techniques. Also we examine various aspects of antialiasing in terrain rendering. We summarize surface and color reconstruction models, and discuss several vertical antialiasing techniques, including supersampling and area sampling. Finally, we discuss several issues of horizontal antialiasing.
